Dr Steve Hajioff has been a GP for many years. He has taught at some of the most prestigious medical schools in the world, including St Bartholomew’s and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, which is world-renowned for its work on health and wellbeing.
His work in this field has been widely published and he has undertaken projects for a variety of organisations including the George Soros Foundation, the Albert Schweitzer Institute, Reuters, the World Bank, UNICEF, the World Health Organisation and governments across Europe. Steve also works extensively as a health writer and broadcaster.
Steve recognises that there are many roads to true health and wellbeing, and his mission is to help people along whichever is best for them.
“The idea of alive + well is timeless… that health is not about illness, but about overall wellbeing. This is increasingly apposite as around the world societies realise that maximising the health and wellness of people is the most important investment we can make. It is not enough to wait for something to go wrong and then throw drugs and surgery at the problem.
We only have one body. We must invest in our health and wellbeing so that our lives can be as fulfilled as possible. Then the possibility of things going wrong are minimised and, if we do have a problem, our bodies are strong enough for treatment to be as effective as possible.”
